Stuff Happens in the World of Fiction

Mother Goose Musings
How much wood could a woodchuck chuck
if a woodchuck could chuck wood
in quantities sufficient to fuel the feared blaze
that would motivate the trapped fly and flea
to vacate that proverbial place of the flawed flue,
much as the dog in a famed factor-analysis problem
learned wit enough to solve the multi-causal
problem posed by asking for one effect from
a multitude of causes, knowing that cause
becomes effect as burning stick moves a dog.

Estranged Sayings Nr. 22

"A nap-plea day keeps the doc tora way."
The word tora (虎) means "tiger" in Japanese, but in this case [of Pearl Harbor, it] is an abbreviated radio codeword, an acronym for totsugeki raigeki (突撃雷撃), literally meaning "lightning attack," indicating . . . that the objective of complete surprise had been achieved. (See Keith Higa, Quora)
But what does "keeps the doc tiger way" mean? Perhaps it means to keep the doc on the way toward lightning attacks . . . like Mr. Flintstone in his hammock.

Vampire in my dream?

Watching over us, indeed!
Rather, surveilling us!

I was thrashing about in a dream the other night, kicking out at an evil creature threatening me and my family, a ghost of some sort, a spectral vampire - and if I'm not mistaken, specifically, The Big Hominid, spiritual alter ego of Kevin Kim!

My wife shook me awake and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Well," I said, and I began to laugh, "I was fighting 'The Ghost of Kevin Kim.'"

My wife must have stared at me in the darkness, but she said nothing, and I fell back asleep, probably to again take on my heroic role as a good, glorious knight in quest of monsters to slay . . .

Let's have some nonsense!

Non-Sense

Cold hands, warm heart, non-sense! - Cold hands do NOT imply a warm heart!

Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy . . .

Weisheit

. . . and wise? The proverbial health and wealth part, maybe, but as to wisdom - or what the Germans (interestingly enough) call "Vice-Height" - I have my doubts, for I have learned much from my failures and misfortunes, usually involving wisdom gained dear from direct experience, so I tinker at being a thinker
