Dario Rivarossa: Flying thru Chaos
Fellow Miltonist Dario Rivarossa posted a link on the Milton List to the above image drawn and colored by him to illustrate Satan's flight through chaos in escaping from Hell (Cf. PL 2.917f).
Based on Satan's appearance, however, I couldn't resist quoting that old cowboy favorite:
I'm going to leave,Click here for the entire rendition of "Old Texas (The Cowman's Lament)," sung by Marty Robbins to the tune of "Bury Me Not on the Lone Prarie." Dario clicked for the song and visibly laughed:
ol' Texas now.
There's no more use,
for the longhorn cow . . .
:-D That's funny , Jeffery! He then linked to the anime masterpiece that had inspired his own work of art . . . but I rather prefer Dario's reworking of that original, which appears as one of his Paradise Drawn series -- a series not yet online, so no link to those creative illustrations.
Now back to grading papers . . .

The complete series can be seen in the Milton-L website
Milton-List
starting from September 2010: one drawing per week. There will be 21 of them.
Hope you'll enjoy them!
Good point about the series being accessible online piecemeal.

Where can you see these? I'd like to have a look.
Follow Dario's link to the Milton List, click on September, and look for Dario's "Paradise Drawn" posts, starting with number 1.

btw, the only book I worked on as a professional illustrator, several years ago, was:
see cover (not by me)
brief autobiography by the Vietnamese catholic cardinal F.-X. Van Thuan.
well, right yesterday the Vatican said that on Oct. 22 they will officially open the "trial" which will finally lead to declare Van Thuan a saint.
Art brings luck.
Dario:
Thanks. I'll contact you soon.
