I also wrote a few articles on John Milton's view of the fruit growing on the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Milton seems to have considered the fruit to be the peach.

But is he playfully suggesting this to "amuse" us in his trademark manner, or is he asserting that the fruit in the OT is in fact a peach?
As ever, there is always too much to say on such a topic.
