Original Spengler

Thought on Spengler's Decline of the West:

Spengler’s concept of culture is so profoundly pessimistic that it amounts to fatalism: birth, accomplishments, decline, death. Nothing can alter the sequence and its conclusion. From beginning to end, it’s BADD!

But I would argue that if Spengler’s system is right, it is also wrong. His fatalism is undone by the fact that we make history, we can analyze his system, and we can therefore subvert the fatalism.
