Blue
About 25 years ago, I visited southern Oregon's Crater Lake National Park, where I hiked by day and stayed in the Lodge by night. About 5 years later, the lake inspired this:
Crater Lake Blues
A blue, blue, blue Olympian eye;
The blue of arctic ice, refracted sky;
The blue of coolly burning distant love;
The blue in which all lonesome blues dissolve.
I've tried to find some online images that do the lake justice, but none quite captures the lake's rugged, transcendent beauty. Still, take a look at what is offered, even the commercial sites. Or do your own online searching.

I really enjoyed this poem. You should read Primary Colors by by Alexander Theroux. His musings on "blue" is wonderful
Anonymous, thank you for your kind words -- and for the recommendation. I'll take a look at Alexander Theroux.
By the way, is he related to Paul Theroux?
