Dyscalculia?

Extra Dog Pound?
When all the Pounds were rounded up,
and every Pound had received a pup,
there always was one pup too few,
and this was ever and always true,
unless one less had less to say than one Pound more than pup, rounded up!

I see you moving this in the direction of long cantos, which will quite possibly exceed (at least in reputation and critical reception) the Canto's of the original Extra Pound, who is an architype for us all but certainly nobody's sweetheart.

Those are high hopes indeed! I will, however, be trying to keep to the form of the limerick, regardless of the theme being treated. But that will not be a very easy thing to do.
