Kim Jong-il no longer ill . . .

Kim Jong-il and Free-Floating Staff
(Image borrowed from Marmot's Hole)

This photo that was posted by blogger R. Elgin at the Marmot's Hole is already several days old, so the news is no longer exactly new, but I've wanted to note that North Korea's Beloved Leader Kim Jong-il is feeling much better now and is once again able to rise not merely from his bed but even from the ground itself.

His powers extend even to his staff, who along with him appear to be only barely touching the surface of the earth.

Moreover, Kim Jong-il is feeling so well that he's once more involving himself in the details of North Koreans' personal lives -- such as is shown in the photo above, which reveals him selflessly assisting one of the staff members by picking the man's nose.

This obviously genuine photo should dispel any rumors that Kim Jong-il remains ill and bedridden.

Are these differences really real differences in the way shadows between the normal sort and the god-man sort are cast.

Well I guess that was taken north of the 38th after all. Perhaps that's not too unusual.

In all but two of the several photos of Kim released, his left arm is immobile (laying on his lap, in his coat pocket, etc.). Two photos show him clapping, but his arms are markedly lower than previous photos of him clapping at various events. This could suggest damage from the alleged stroke (or it could all be coincidence). His face doesn't show signs of sagging, however, so the stroke could have been less severe, which could help explain his recovery with some issue remaining.

The figures in this particular image appear to have been photographed indoors but transferred to the outdoor scene where they now appear. That would explain the odd way in which the figures seem not to fit the scene.

Kim Jong-il thus proves that the old saying is false, that is, "You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose."

Yes, and it also demonstrates that in Juche ideology, the Suryong leadership principle discourages individual initiative, requiring the Beloved Leader himself to act first.

Maybe the recipient of the nose-picking is no friend of Kim's?

A new form of torture, perhaps? Having a dead-guy pick one's nose?

Daddio, that's pretty funny . . . until I think about it too closely. Ugh. That would be torture. A fat zombie picking my nose . . . and my brain!
